First up! Bobbi Brown Beach Body Oil
Why did I try it: In all honesty my first reason for wanting to fork out for this product was the beautiful glass bottle and simple design. The pink oil suggests its quite gentle too. What is always so appealing about perfumed (not just lightly fragranced) body oils is that you can enjoy your favourite scents as well as the benefits of a deeply penetrating oil, thus ensuring your perfume stays on the skin for longer than perhaps an alcohol-based Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum would.
First impressions: As soon as I unwrapped this exciting product I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. The bottle is absolutely gorgeous, so much so for a second (and only for a milli-second!), I didn't want to use the elixir-like oil inside....!
Having worked to develop professional spa body/skincare ranges, I immediately am drawn to products boasting the inclusion of essential oils. The benefits of aromatherapy are incredible and while the essential (carrier) oils in this product are very inoffensive i.e. it's hard not to like them, (Olive, Sesame, Avocado and Jojoba) to me, it's important to have them in there to add to the experience of using the product.
Application: One slightly negative comment I would have is the lack of a plug in the top, when I pour the oil onto my hand (see pictured) I have to be EXTREMELY careful not to be too enthusiastic and pour too much - I hate waste!
Verdict: All in all, this product, if used SPARINGLY, is worth the cost. If you think about what you would pay for 100ml of your favourite perfume *eyes watering* this is a steal! The fragrance is out-of-this-world and who wouldn't want this beautiful bottle in their bathroom - because it's something that you may not have thought to buy yourself before, it makes a great gift too!
